Cheques missing at the WEWC


I have thought long and hard about saying anything...but I feel the walking community should know what has been going on for the last month.  I mailed 5 cheques to the PMH the Monday after the walk. I filled out the donation forms and wrote cheques for PMH.  I mailed them and waited.  Checked my personal page daily waiting to see the donations appear.  NO, that is not what has happened. I waited and then called.  No one had any idea what I was talking about, 3 weeks later I have been told repeatedly by Heidi that it is not a problem and she is not worried about the missing donations.  Even though they came OUT of my bank account on September 27, dated September 13 and yet the WEWC still has no idea where they are.  Yesterday after waiting for the return call I was again promised I checked my banks records and paid the money to view the cheque online.  They are stamped WEBC on the same date they came out of my account Sept. 27. Yet, when I read the account information to Heidi she had no idea where they were. 

I am frustrated about many things about the walk this year and have not added to the walk experience thread, however I echo many of the thoughts that have been posted.  I have now spent three weeks nearly four trying to track down donations that are I think the responsiblity of PMH and the folks who process the cheques.  I have asked my bank to investigate and find the cheques. 

If you are not going to return phone calls to walkers then do not promise them a call, just say when you know something you will call.  Do not tell walkers repeatedly that they need not worry when you have no idea what are the issues.  We spend a lot of time getting donations and it is disheartening to have to go through this after walking. 

I have no idea what to do now, missing donations, staff not knowing where they are, and no real answers or solutions...disbelief

Naamphong,

This sounds very frustrating for you, and completely ridiculous to me. If the money was deposited and the cheques are stamped WEBC, this should be a NON ISSUE! They should apply the totals to your fundraising page and call it a day.

I hope it gets sorted out quickly. I almost never mail in cheques because I prefer to be more in control, but it's not always an option.

Got a call on Friday, told they had found the cheques and were not yet uploaded. Told will be uploaded Friday, still not showing. Apparently anyone who had a donation processed on the 27th of September it did NOT upload to the system. If you mailed donations I would check to see if you are missing any of them.  This is a time consuming quest and I am done with all the stress. This walk is suppose to be seamless, not this year...gosh!no

I am at my wits end...still no donation even though I was informed last week that they had found the cheques.  This is exasperating! doh

I am still waiting for the weekend to find a $75 donation that was mailed in the same envelope as the other donations and at the same time.  I am sitting on a $200 donation b/c I am fearful that they may lose this one as well.  I am so bitterly disapointed in the way this has been handled.  I have been made to feel as though I am being disagreeable about the timeline...really? I mailed the cheques on the 13th of September, they cashed the cheques on the 27th of September...is it not November 3? 

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I am really at a loss for what to do...

I can imagine just how frustrated you are and if I were you - at this point in time, I would probably address your concerns with Senior Managers at the PMH. See if you can get a chance to speak (or write) to Paul Alofs - President & CEO Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.
It seems that it might be the only way for you to be taken seriously. Good luck and let us know.

The last lost cheque has been accounted for on the part of PMHF. I received a very short, succint informative call today from Kim stating "Trish, the cheque has been posted to your page, thank you, good bye."

Gee I feel all warm and fuzzy now...

Now to get the courage to send the last cheque in and cross my fingers that they do not spend 39 days posting this donation.

I think that this is something that needs to be forwarded to the top. I emailed my walking coach today and asked for a simple log in for my husband so that I could send thank you notes to donors.  This is the response I got back "Hi Trish,

Both of your pages are private and no longer searchable. Do you need more than this?

So, when I search for us we do not come up as listed, when I look at my page, my team is just me not my husband and I. 


This is my response to the above email

"Danielle,
The walk this year has been exasperating to say the least.  I sent you an email asking for D's log in information and you replied with "

What I requested was Doug's log in information, at no time did I ask for our pages to be made private or no longer searchable, thanks for the update.  How is it we are to fundraise when people who have emails out are not able to find us?  I did not ask for any of this stress, I did not ask for our pages to be made private, I did not ask for what you apparently have done. Please make our pages searchable, make them non private and let us get our funds raised and thank the ones who helped us to our goal.  At no time did I ask for you to do what you did.  I am so disappointed.  Doug is not even a member of my team anymore?  What are you about at PMHF?  Why all the stress.

I am in tears and so disappointed in the entire mess that has been created by them losing cheques from September 13- Nov 6.  I do not know what to do...no

How disappointing and frustrating for you both :(
