Advice: Pasta Night

Hi all:

Has anyone done a pasta night?

I'm thinking this is a cheap and fun fundraiser and was wondering if anyone else has participated in an event like this.

I'm considering reaching out to different grocery stores and asking for donated pasta and even the meat and sauce.
Then hosting an open house where family/friends come, pay (I dunno, $10-20) and receive all you can eat pasta.

Possibly host some games, have candy sticks on sale and of think pink items.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

This year will be our 3rd annual spaghetti supper...the hall is donated as is all of the food...we sell out every year. Our tickets are $10.00 per plate and they get pasta, cesar salad, bread, cheese platter, fruit platter, dessert...and we have 2 sittings one at 5 and one at 6:30. We make our own sauce from all of the donated products.......we have raffles as well beside our photo album and boards of past walks, sponsors etc.  Last year we even had someone donate a weekend for 2 at a wonderful lake cabin here......it is a great fundraiser.

Hey Ashley,
So are you able to do Toronto this year then? I'm going to miss everyone in Toronto! I'll be at that wedding on Cobourg.
My Mom and I are going to do Ottawa, but the boards are completely dead, so I thought I'd check it out here. :)

I was wondering about that type of fundraiser too, but something at home (or in the summer, in the back yard) rather then getting involved with renting the hall. I was thinking maybe a chili cookoff, since people are usually so proud of their chili they like to show off. :)

We're having a meeting today at work on ideas for fundraising for the CIBC Run (we have a team at work) so maybe I'll get some more ideas for fundraising for WEWC.

Sorry I can't give you any advice Ashley, but I do wish you well in your fundraising. By the time you are doing your training, Noreen and I will be done our walk.
