Can anyone share thier success stories/ideas for holding a poker/euchre fundraising event.

My husband has run them for his baseball team and they make several thousand dollars.
They hold it in a room at a local bar/pub. They bought all their own chips so they didn't have to worry about renting them every year. You could probably get someone to donate them though. The bar/pub provided the tables and chairs. To buy into a hand it was $40. $20 going to the pot and $20 to the fundraiser.
People can buy back in once they are out so you can get multiple amounts from the same people. The bar sells food/drinks so you don't make money that way. You could do raffles and stuff too to make some more money (sell tickets for the items).
