I just registered online for the walk. When we had to go register in person before, there was a section where you could get a number so you could drop off your bag at one of the trucks then pick it up at camp if you weren't sleeping at camp. They didn't have it this time. What happens to our bags if we are staying somewhere else for the night?
One of the ways you could get around it, is find someone who is looking to have a tent mate that isn't actually staying in the tent. There have been posts on here of people asking for anyone who is not tenting, to put their name down, so the person who is tenting gets the tent to themselves and doesn't have to share.
So.... then you would get a tag for your bag, and the tent number. You could pick up your bag at the tent, and the person who wants to camp can have the tent all to themselves. Then on Sunday, your bring your bag back to the truck again, with the tent assignement tag on it.

2011 will be my sixth year walking, but it will be Ottawa this year.
I am walking alone this year, and wouldn't mind a tent on my own. You can say that you are my tent mate and pick up your bags from my tent, i wouldnt mind at all.
Right now i put down random tent assignment, but I would be more comfortable alone,

I swept in Ottawa in June. Your pkg that you get normally on the friday ...that you will now receive in the mail...WILL have all that...including the tag for you bag.. etc. Everything that you would have gotten on the friday will now be mailed to you. Oh and if you are staying some where else....like i did in OTTAWA...i stayed with my sweep captain at her home... we just took the bags there... they are only worried about the ones staying in camp to bring their bags....
