Help needed to link url to something like "click here"

Okay....so I am technically challenged.  The most embarassing part is I have done this before and use it on my signature line on my emails.

Can anyone tell me how to set it up so you can tell someone to "click here" and it automatically takes them to the url for your personal page for the Walk?

I promise I'll write it down this time and not have to ask again.....I probably did write it down last time, but can't figure out where I saved it....very humbling.

Hi Donna,

If you want to create a link to your personal page all you have to do is go on to the endcancer website. DO NOT log in. Just click on Donate Now, type in your name and click on it, so you are now seeing the page that a potential donor will see.
Highlight the website address up in the address field. Once highlighted (which should work by just clicking it once), right click and then click on copy.
Go to the spot where you want the link to show for people to click on it, right click and click paste.

That should do it...... if you have any other questions, just post it here. :)

Oh, if you want the link to be in the background, but the reader to see the word CLICK HERE then that's a different set up. If that's what you want, then let me know where you're typing the info (in a word document, or something else) and I can give you instructions for that.

Hi Noreen:

Yes...I wanted to link my personal page address to some words like "click here"....just thought it would look nicer than having that long string the other method gives you.

I would be using it in an email and I use microsoft outlook, if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Donna

Okay, you want to insert a hyperlink then.
What you do is type up your email that you want to send (this is instructions for outlook which is what you said you're using). Highlight the word(s) that you want the link on. Eg, highlight click here
Press CNTRL & K at the same time
OR (Go to the toolbar and click on insert and Click hyperlink)
On the screen that comes up, make sure on the very left under Link to it's showing "Existing file of Web Page"
You'll see near the bottom of this pop up window is a field called Address.
This is where you'd put the website address. Normally when I do links on my husband's website I just copy and paste the address, but outlook doesn't seem to let you paste it in, so you may have to type the whole address in. It will let you choose sites in the drop down menu, but it probably won't show that full address that takes you to your own page. So it'll be a bit of typing.
Once you're done click OK.

Thank you so much, Noreen.  I will give this a try today.
