Wendy Corbett, Pat Burke, Vairi Corbett-Burke and myself (Donna Pierson) are holding a Giant Garage Sale supporting our participation in the Ride to Conquer Cancer and The Weekend to End Breast Cancer.
The event is on Saturday, May 9th and will be held in the north Streetsville area of Mississauga....Falconer Drive at Creditview to be more specific.
It will run from 8am to 3pm.
We have a huge inventory of products donated by many families, including a large selection of old classical records, many kitchen items, childrens toys and gently used clothing, antiques (including two teapot sets) and even a guitar.
We'll also have barbequed hot dogs, in case you are hungry. And a draw for some yummy home made chocolate chip cookies.
If you are in the area, be sure to drop by and say 'hello'.
Well folks, now that I have dried out, here is an update!!!
We had to hastily throw most of our product into our vehicles at 9:00am when the first storm came through Mississauga. Despite the BLACK clouds, we only got a few sprinkles of rain, so we put it all back out again and continued with the sale.
We managed to continue until about 11:00 when we TOTALLY got rained out....swamped is more like it....2 inches of water in the coffee mugs...ugh!
We still grossed a little over $700.
Think what we could have done if the weather had cooperated.
Hopefully we will have better luck at the next one.
