Is there anybody interested in training with a first time walker in the above areas. If close by I don't mind travelling to meet you to train with. Thank you all for your time. Looking forward to the walk and meeting a lot of fantastic people.
Hi there I am in the Danforth/Pape area and would be happy to meet up somewhere along the subway line for a weekend training walk. This is my 6th year walking and I can tell you that it is never too early to start training. Heather
Hi Rachael Sounds great, it is so much easier to train with others than by yourself. If you know someone is waiting for you to show up you will drag yourself out of the house on a weekend morning! Hope to see you Saturday. Heather
Will you be joining us Sunday morning at 9:30 at Yonge/Bloor for our first training walk? Please let us know so we don't leave without you. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for you reply. I would be interested in joining you on a Sunday morning... what time do you usually aim for?
I haven't started with any training yet... and the rain isn't very motivating! I work full time. I'm hoping that once the days are longer, I'll be able to get out after 7:30 ish on a weeknight.... at least once a week.
Nice to hear from you. You are welcome to join us any Sunday at 9:30 at Yonge and Bloor. I am on Eglinton between Allen and Bathurst. We can meet up and do the evening walks when the weather warms up a bit more and the sun shines a bit longer. Mid August by then HAHAHA. Let us know what you think. I take the subway down to Bloor/Yonge from the Eglinton station around 9 - 9:10 on Sunday morning.
I'm in for Sunday! I hope the rest of me is! I'll meet you and the group there.... any cell#'s or identifiables... other than workout clothes and waterbottles?
Re: evenings... I'm good to get started anytime... but realistically once it's a little lighter and warmer! We can chat once we meet.... btw, I'm off of Eglinton between Avenue and Bathurst. Kristin
Hi Kristin I'm one of the Yonge/Bloor walkers. You'll find us pretty easily at the N/E corner of the intersection. I'll be wearing a Pittsburg Penguins jersey. Heather
I am in for Sunday providing it is NOT pouring rain in the morning. I am the one with the purple glasses If you miss them, you need glasses See you tomorrow, Sunday. We can discuss meeting in the evenings when it gets a bit warmer and stays light longer.
We did 9 kms today, mine with walking to St. George station and walking home from the subway came to 9.57 km . Good walk. We will have to plan farther walks starting in a couple of weeks. Have a great week both of you. If anybody wants to walk in the evening except Wed. let me know day before.
I'm Paola, I live near Yonge and York Mills, it is my first time walking in this event. I would also like to have a walking partner. Let me know if you are interested and we can start. I work during the day but evenings and weekeds work for me. Paola
Nice to hear from you. Unfortunately I am going away on vacation next week and will be back for our scheduled walk on July 19th. In the meantime you might want to check out the Training Walks on this site. There are several in your area, Don Mills/York Mills which you might want to try out.
You can also check out the yonge/bloor walkers group. There is a link on the training walk board as well. I believe it is being updated for the next walk on July 19. I would be happy to walk with you in the evenings and on the weekend when I get back from my vacation. I hope you can find somebody now to walk with you to get you started.
I have checked out the training boards, and will do some of those. Was looking for others that would walk evenings, looking forward to hearing from you when you get back. Have a great time wherever you are vacationing.
Hi Paola! I live at Yonge and Finch and I am looking for someone to walk with. Evenings are good for me. I don't have any fancy routes, but if you do, I'd be open to that! Let me know what you think!
