Loved the message board over the years!

Hi Katherine, I don't understand it not being on the participant page or why there are not many messages on this board this year, either.  I view the board from the link I saved in my favourites a few years ago.

This is one place where you can find out what people are thinking and doing regarding the walk, and also can get answers to questions you may have.

I check quite often to see what is going on, and although there are not a lot of messages placed this year, the calculator at the bottom of the page shows that people are viewing it...both members and guests.

The last post prior to your's of yesterday appears to be mine from March 17th, in reply to someone else's query.   I thought it would help to answer that query, but there was no response from anyone.

It's too bad because this message board can be a valuable tool to everyone, and especially to those who are beginners.

I see you are continuing the walk in memory of your dear friend, and are well on your way to your goal.   Good luck with the rest of your fundraising.

hi there! I check in from time to time, don't post much. After so many years of walking I don't have as many questions!

I was wondering about the route... I assume we'll start and end at Downsview again this year? I found last year's Saturday to be very long!

Cheers, Julie

Hi Julie, nice to have your reply, thank you.   We have been at this for a long time also and don't need questions answered, but sometimes we can help someone else.   I'm sure there are a lot of new walkers again this year who could use some help or advice.

We also find it interesting to know what others are thinking and doing.

We walked in Ottawa last year {Toronto's date had a conflict} and they went in and out of one location which was great.   I heard some pros and cons about doing the same last year in Toronto, but overall I think it was better just using Downsview, and I'm sure was less expensive.

We're looking forward to getting started and getting finished in September.   There are moments along the way that you are not sure you will make it the whole distance, but most of us do.   I think we all just hope we don't whine along the route.  :)

Good luck with the rest of your fundraising.   Thanks again.

Hey Julie.......just found out on the website that we are starting at CNE and going to Downsview again this year. Back to the old way!

Go onto your page and look at THE WEEKEND then click on 2012 ON EVENT. Once there, there are a number of links to click on to check out what is going on from Friday night to Sunday.

I was hoping it would all be out of Downsview.....It is much easier in one location in that you can leave your car in the parking lot each morning and drive home that evening.   This way, we'll have to get my husband to drop us off and phone him to pick us up when we are ready to leave on Saturday.

Oh well, it was always thus, so we are used to it.    We'll deal with what we are given.

Hi All,

The Twin Peakers will be back again this year. My 5th and my partners 6th year! We are very excited to do the walk again. It's grueling but is the most amazing experience. There were pros and cons to the one venue - parking was easier etc. but it made the first day VERY long. Sounds like it will be quite the event this year - they are really Adding a lot of new things - more entertainment, healthier food choices - very exciting.

Let's get this board going!

So nice to see some action on this message board, and welcome back to devmegsmum....let's hope the board is picking up for the rest of this year's walk.

Julie....if you like the Pickel Barrel/Rose Reisman combination, go to the PB and order her turkey burger.  It was fabulous.  No bun, just burger on veggies and a cranberry chutney sauce on top.   AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
