Shirts

Hey has anyone else noticed anything about the final t-shirts we were given as survivors. Mine does not say I walked to support Princess Margaret Hospital but St. Vincent Foundation. I don't even know where that is. I am not impressed and will be contacting the WETEWC organizers. Just thought I would ask

I took a look at my pictures and it looks like you were mistakingly given the wrong shirt, but all the ones I had on my camera had in support of PMH on them. Does your shirt also say the weekend to end breast cancer instead of women's cancer? St. Vincent foundation is in indianoplis.

My shirt does not say I walked for women's cancers it says walk with me to beat women's cancers...I must say I have tried to keep a postitive tude towards the walk, but the shirts were vrey disappointing.

I know none of us walk to get a shirt at the end, heck last year I had no idea I got a shirt at the end.  However, this year the 2xl does fit, but not what I would consider wearable and as someone said already do we need the embarassment of having a shirt that does not fit.  To make matters more disappointing I was offered a mens shirt instead of my pink one. Well my husband ended up giving me his mens 2xl and it fits, but barely, now I am large busted, but seriously not that big.

It is unfortunate that our souvenir after our blisters have healed is such a disappointment. I love snuggling up in my shirt from last year on a cool fall day or winter night it is snuggly and pink and just comfy it gives me that mmmm, I really did this feeling long after the soreness has faded.

My husband is disappointed he has no souvenir shirt and I am sure he is not the only one.  He has a new deeper respect for walkers and especially survivors for walking the walk. At the end of Day 1 he said to me ' I have a whole new respect for you after your battle you have walked this walk and signed up for a second round, kudos to you' It is nice to hear your loved one tell you they are proud of you and shirt no shirt that is far more important.

Naamphong,

I feel so bad that your husband doesn't have his own victory shirt... do you think he would like a new/unworn mens 2XL Crew shirt? They are really roomy and generous. I ended up with it because I was just going to cut out the "Crew" letters to sew onto my cycling safety vest, so I asked them for a size they thought they would have extras of. I ended up with a large (which I can wear) and a 2XL. Then I got home and felt bad about cutting up a perfectly good shirt, so I went and used one from last year (it had my name written on it in black marker, so I never wore it after the event).

I'd be happy to drop it into the mail for your husband if you think he would like it. Let me know.

My victory shirt is teeny tiny too... and it's a women's XL. Reminds me of a cycling jersey - skin tight! Normally I prefer my workout clothing a little bit roomier than this.

As much as I appreciate the fact that we get a victory t-shirt... I was really disappointed in the quality and sizing. I was handed a large (I wear a medium) and it was too small!!! And the quality is rather poor in comparison to last years lovely, long sleeved t-shirts that were poly/cotton and soft and cosy on a cool fall day. Perfect to wear to keep the awareness going over the winter.

I put my new shirt away.. probably won't wear it at all. Unless I drop a ton of weight..

I LOVED this year's shirts! I LOVED the colour, style and material. I didn't like the sizing, though. I ended up with a 2XL when I can normally wear a L. I really liked the new shirts for 2011 registrations. I didn't like the royal blue colour as in previous years as I found they didn't match much. Next year will be my 9th year walking, and I appreciate the colour and style change. I'm thinking I may make a quilt with old t-shirts and the CIBC bandannas we get each year.
