If you run out of pink, go with purple! As The Weekend now encompass all women's cancers we've moved to using a color to include all women's cancers instead of just pink (which is the primary color for breast cancer)...thus purple.
So feel free to mix and match! Or go with magenta...it's a nice combination of the two.
Every year I seem to get a different shade of pink, so who knows, it could be purple! :) I try to go for the darker pink so it'll stay in my hair a bit longer. The lighter pink seems to wash out way too fast. I think I still have the strawberry pink left over from last year. Whatever colour it ends up being, the ribbon will be in the back, so you can find me that way Ashley. ha ha

2011 will be my sixth year walking, but it will be Ottawa this year.
My sister and I are part of sweep & are calling ourselves "Cure at the End of the Rainbow" -- we are decorating the van with many ribbons of different colours to indicate the many different cancers. However I believe gynecologic cancers are Pink, Teal & Purple so we'll have lots of those colours.

Guess I better check out the purple t-shirt selection in my local stores! Of the two I already own one is too tight, and the other is waaayyy too tight! Thought walking was supposed to help you lose weight?!! lol 13 more sleeps!!
Just checked the weather report. It looks like it is going to be a cool weekend this year. Cool is good for walking . . . not so good for camping out. Hopefully there will be no rain. Anyway, as we all know, the weather report will change about 25 times before we get to the big day, and then we may still be surprised! Only 10 more sleeps to go!!
I had to spend the day outside today - doing physical activity and it just about killed me. I am so happy to the weather cooling off! But you are right - the weather can be very unpredictable! What would you dislike more - heat or rain? I've done both and neither is much fun!
I much prefer rain. I remember two years ago though on the Sunday when it was rainy, windy, and really quite cool. That was pretty miserable. That said, I really don't tolerate heat well - it really knocks me out.
Heat or rain is a hard question! 2 years ago on sunday trying to eat my lunch in the pouring rain... I may have never been more miserable. But walking in 30+ degrees would also be AWFUL.
OMG! You comment about eating lunch in the rain gave me a flashback to that moment, you are right - it was SO miserable. No where dry to sit, nothing to sit under, I lost my rain coat, I had it tied to my waist and it must have fallenl off, the coat I had on wasn't water proof and the red dye in it soaked all the way through my clothes and ran down my legs - it looked like I was bleeding to death. My sports bra still has pink parts on it LOL!

I agree, that lunch experience 2 years ago was very memorable. I wasn't sure if the drops falling on my sandwich were rain or tears. Leaving the park I paused in the exhaust of a bus because it was warm.
It all seems funny now, and I'm sure that we can deal with whatever the weather conditions will be this year.
Jane, your post made me laugh out loud! At least we know we weren't alone in our misery It's funny how you do forget the worst and remember the best. I love the experience and can't wait to get going.
HAHA! yes, two years ago was awful. when all you wanted to do was sit and rest, you sat in mud. when you wanted to eat, it was soaking (with rain and tears). i hope that we don't have to go through anything like that again.
