This is my first year doing The Walk To End Breast Cancer. I have been contacting several stores like Walmart, Fortinos and Home Depot about having a tag day at their store but every location says they dont do them.....I dont get it. Please help!! If you have a free tag day or tips on how to get one I NEED HELP! Anything would be appreciated. Thanks!
for Walkmart, they told me you have to ask to speak with the person in charge of organizing charities and bring a copy of your participant letter. the LCBO you have to conact head office. My walking coach gave me the contact infor for that (i dont have it on me now). For loblaws, i emailed pr@loblaws.ca
Another great one is to get a bus organized to Casino Rama. You need a minimum of 42 (max 46 on this bus) people for the bus to be free and each person gets $10 towards chips or the buffet. You stay for 5 hours and the bus will take you there (from a meeting point) and back (to the meeting point).
Im charging $10 a person which is all going to raising money. Just as a saftey net, try to get the max for the bus because if you go under your minimum then you'll have to fork out $20 for each empt seat below 42. Their contact information is 1877 817 7262.
I hear you Hooter Hero! I am at the end of my rope with this entire tag day fiasco. Here is why....
Hi Trish:
If you are still planning your tag day for March 13, 2010 at our shopping centres, I need specifics such as proof of insurance etc. in order to approve your request and obtain permission from our tennant. I am presuming since I have had no response that the tag day will not take place.
Good luck,
Glenn. Just what does this mean? I do not want to live there...suggestions please ladies. /sigh
Shopping centres require proof of liability insurance, so if you get hurt, they aren't responsible. Check with your insurance provider about having a liability rider for this purpose, sometimes it's not that much more money....I know, who wants to spend $, but it's better than no tag day, right?
I guess my frustration is teetering on beyond. B/c why have I not read about this in any other thread about tag days? It seems that there is misinformation about the fundraising we do.../sigh like I said frustrated
Hi I have not had a problem getting tag days I do Walmart and Metro, Superstores and other Grocery stores. Yes you do need to go in with a letter that you are doing the walk, also you have to send your letter in to LCBO and they give you days, dates and locations. If doing Walmart ask if they will match but you have to ask. Good luck
After speaking to my walking coach, it is something that some places require, just my luck :p It will cost me at least $50 for the day...kinda redundant no? Spending money to raise money. Might just donate another $50 and call it done lol
If you do tag days in a mall I have heard that you might need insurance, I don't do the stores in malls and have yet to have insurance. Go in to the stores you want tag days with letter and ask for manager or whoever it is you need to speak to. Good luck
