symbol for all women's cancers?

I hope everyone had a great walk and is as well as can possibly be!

I'm really hoping Randy sees this, so that she can provide some info for all of us who are interested in knowing.

Is there a ribbon, symbol etc. besides the pink ribbon that is associated with all women's cancers?  I always thought that pink ribbons represented the breast cancer cause only.

thanks.. Harold

LOL, your caught me on line Harold!!!

the symbol is still the ribbon

the colour for gynacological cancers is purple, the bands that were given out by PMH on the walk with the new logo Weekend to End Women's Cancers is that colour (I did the bands for them)
However, there are other colours as well.
Teal is for Ovarian cancer and White is for cervical cancer.

I am in the midst of deciding what items to have made to help with the fundraising.
Silicone bands are a given!

any thought to what you would like to see? Please drop me a line to
rmellon@rogers.com
as always I welcome your suggestions

thx
randy

Hey Randy:
I have a suggestion
you could do the band in pink, letters in white with purple outline
(not knowing costs or processes involved)
I think that would look awesome!
It would have a very similar look to the exisiting rings, dark pink with the blue lettering.
Once again, it was an amazing year, looking forward to seeing you again next September!

I think a multi-coloured product is a great idea!  I can see bracelets with all the colours included, bandannas etc.

I hope Randy is following this thread!

so, I called PMHF to find out about the colours
they said teal for Ovarian and Cervical.
and purple was the generic gyne colour

I'm thinking of doing a teal swirl band similar to the pink (very popular) swirl band
and perhaps a strip band with pink/tea/purple??? not sure on that one??

any thoughts?

I'm also thinking of a Find the Cure Teal Magnet, and a key chain that is like my multi pink coloured key chain, but in teal.
and a teal pen

thoughts???

Sounds good Randy. I never knew that teal was for Ovarian cancer, and I'm sure that a lot of other people are ignorant of this fact also. These items might be good educational tools.

Your ideas sound great Randy! Let us know when you have stuff on your site please. My hubby signed up with me for next year and we are starting our fundraising right away.

Hope everyone is recovered from the weekend :)

Randy, I ordered pink ribbons from you when I was doing tag days - what about a multi colored pack of ribbons for next year? Pink, Purple, and Teal.

with the packs of 100 ribbons, I can get teal, but they would be more expensive.
when I order pink I order over 100,000 ribbons of them to get that pricing,
so, if another colour is wanted, I could only do it a higher cost. :(

I do have the tie dye Find the Cure silicone bands in teal on order
the walking pin in teal, and I'm working on the multi-teal key chain, along with the magnet

As I'm sure you can all appreciate, the dollars it takes to order any item on my site is outlayed by me, and me alone. So to do all this in considerable, so I need to start off slow when it comes to a new product or item as I have to pay for and inventory the item up front.

Having said that, it has been honour and a privilage to help so many raise over a million dollars in the past 6 years all across across Canada, primarily for breast cancer research.

Randy who?  Randy great!!??   Maybe, if she joined Harold's Harem!!

Just kidding of course!  I've re-upped for my 8th year.  There have been times, during the past 7 years, when my efforts have lost a little momentum.  When I sign on to the site and I just see Randy's name, the momemtum is immediately re-stored.  She is a great inspiration!
