I haven't been able to walk for the past two weeks. Plantar Faciitis. Ouch! Starting to feel better now. Hope it heals between now and Day One. I'll walk anyway, even if it means bringing on the painkillers!
Oooh, I had that the last time I walked ('05). By the end of Day 1 was sitting at the medical tent crying, my foot was just that cramped up. Awful pain that is.
Afterwards I started walking half-marathons, so I went back to the Running Room and found a new pair of shoes that didn't induce PF. I LOVE my shoes. Haven't had PF since.
Keep on stretching your calf muscles. They're attached to your plantar facia at the heel and it helps to loosen the facia.... but you probably already knew that ;o)
I've put on some pounds since my last half-marathon and hubby is a slow walker, so I'll probably be bringing up the rear!
