Cheering Stations

Hey Everyone,

Today I received an email with a link about the cheering stations
http://www.endcancer.ca/site/DocServer/9092_WEBC_CheeringFlyer_TO.pdf?docID=9067

By looking at these stops - are we walking the same route as the past two years?

Yup, that looks like the same route. I was thinking that this route was better for the one day folks.

To bad the 1-day-ers won't be walking past PMH.

Did the walk back in 2005 and we did it in reverse, PMH on Day 1 and Etobicoke and the lakeshore on Day 2.

Can't wait!

I've walked both routes also. I preferred PMH on the second day. It was very moving to see all the doctors and researchers out shaking hands and greeting everyone. Made me feel appreciated for doing something that, to be honest, was a lot of fun and not nearly as hard as it sounds.
Just over two more weeks to go!

I agree ! Walking by PMH on day two was what I need(ed) to get through the last leg of the walk.

Hi, Where do we reach Downsview and camp overnight? There are several entrances to Downsview Park. Which one is the one for our entrance? Thank you.

Then the post I put in the route thread is wrong, we do not walk back to the CNE on Saturday?  I am beginning to feel lost again, there seems to be confusion. When they tell us the specifics?

No we don't walk back to CNE on Saturday. The one day walkers end at Downsview Park, the 2 day walkers walk back a different route on Sunday.

Is it experience that tells you all this? Or did I miss something somewhere?

Not experience, it is what I have been told, that we camp out overnight at Downsview Park. That has the way it always has been as far as I can tell. On the homepage for www.endcancer.ca it had tent assignments as well as other information. The event guide on the home page also has the particulars, just not the full route yet. I believe we get that next week closer to the weekend.

They never post the full route, as there can always be last minute changes. But they always will go by those cheering stations even if they have change the route due to last minute "issues" or emergencies.

Day 1 ends at Downsview Park, we have been coming in (the past years) off the Keele street entrance near the Shriners buildings.

they will have the route available a few weeks after the event.

c-ya soon
Randy
