For anyone that's out in the Dundas (Hamilton) area, I'll have a booth again this year at the Dundas Cactus Festival. I'll be selling the pink ribbon bracelets that I make, along with necklaces and earrings that a friend at work makes and has donated to the cause.
It's going to be a hot hot weekend, so hopefully there'll be lots of people out. :)
I live in Dundas, although I typically am away for Cactus Festival, if I am not this year I will for sure stop by! Consider coming to my Trivia Night Fundraiser on June 4th!! :)
Good luck with your fundraiser!! I tried to look at the link posted and it couldn't find the site - it could just be my work computer but I just wanted to let you know.
My post about the Dundas Cactus festival is actually from last August. :) I believe we're doing the festival again this year, but the above link is probably old. I'll have to post a new link for this year's festival. :) And also post the other festivals I'm going to be doing. I know I'm doing the Bread and Honey Streetsville festival again this year (June).

Hey Ashley, This is Diane O'Reilly, the woman who is lucky to be Noreen's mom.
I've been involved over the years, but never a walker with Noreen. We have just worked at fundraising together and trying to help her with her training walks. I didn't think I'd be able to raise the required $2,000, but figured that I'd do it this year while I'm still old and not ancient!!!
I just hope I don't disappoint my daughter during the walk.

2011 in Ottawa in June was a successful 2 day, 60km Walk for Noreen and I. Whoohoo!!! See you in 2012!
We'll have a great time during the walk!! I'll probably have to keep telling you to slow down. lol. :) On top of all the help in previous years, you've also been down there for the whole walk cheering us all on!
Ashley, Dave says he's going to be down there cheering everyone on, so he'll be the second Waldo (unless Rob (the original Waldo) is walking this year) so that should be fun!

(And now that Noreen mentioned that you are there for her cheering her on throughout the walk - I remember you! And I also remember Noreen telling me about her own pit stops provided by her mother). It's that kind of support that us walkers loooove!
I remember the first time someone came out to support me, I cried. haha But it's so helpful and enouraging to keep the motivation going.
Diane you'll have a blast walking, especially walking beside your daughter!
(Have you guys considered doing a pub night - I found that they're very successful).
My husband and I have gone down every year that Noreen has been in the walk (4) and we spend the day driving the route, ringing the cow bell and using the clappers. Sometimes you wonder if people are getting ticked at the noise, but most of the walkers smile when cars drive by and acknowledge their great efforts. We begin in the van in the morning because we drive Noreen and whomever else down to the EX, then we rush home to pick up the Jeep so we can drive around with the top down. Same thing Sunday, but in reverse.
We have not done a pub night. Not sure I'd know where to begin.
