I have been approved by the LCBO to do a tag day but they say I have to contact my insurance company to get liability insurance for that day. Has anyone else had this experience of having to get insurance? This is my first tag day and I didn't realize that liability insurance was required. Can anyone help me?
We use mathers insurance, we get a 6 pack for $150. If you have a weekend where you are fundraising both days then that would be considered as 1 day out of the 6 pack. If you book only one day for fundraising then that also is considered one day out of the 6 pack so it is best to book back to back days. It is good for 6 months.
Hi I have done tag days at lcbo and never was asked for insurance and this is the first time I have heard of it. I know that if you do a tag day in a mall you need insurance mabe yours is in a mall.
It may vary from region to region, or store to store for that matter. From our experience we have been asked to provide insurance at lcbo's which are not in a mall, and also we have had some stores not even bother asking.
A tag day is when a store, such as the LCBO allows you to set up a table in front of their store to ask for donations for your Breast Cancer Walk. Some grocery stores, such as A&P, etc. and some malls allow you to do so also. You have to be approved by the store in order to do one.
