Event Insurance

Does have any experience in getting inexpensive insurance for fundraising events?  We have been given the community booth at a local mall for a day and so far the insurance quote we have been given is too high to make it worthwhile.  We have heard of other people getting similar insurance for $30.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Judi

I have a note I saved from a couple of years ago....just in case I ever needed it.  You never know when these tid-bits of info might come in handy.  :>)

Somebody by the name of Yvonne told us that the mall she was fundraising in suggested she call William Mather Insurance Limited.  Apparently she was able to get adequate insurance for $37 for the day.  She just called and gave them her Visa and they did the rest of the contract for her.  I checked and they are still listed - the number is 416-214-2421.

You might want to give them a try.

Someone else said that their home insurer provided a rider for $2 million liabiltity for $125.00 for the year, regardless of where they had tag days. The insurance company provided a letter of proof to give to LCBO and St. Lawrence Market etc.

So if you expect to be working a few events over the year which might require this insurance, that's another option to check out.

Good luck...and let us know how you make out.
