What can I say about the WEBC ???

Since I joined the walk in 2005 it's been life changing.
When I first decided to walk I was walking for my grandmother(my mom's mom) who in 1978 just months before my daughter shawna was born...lost her 18 yr battle w/breast cancer. I was 3 the very first time she was diagnosed and approx 25 the second time. (she was 48 the first time & 66 the second time) I remember sitting by her side in the hospital for months...and at one point vowed to SOMEDAY do my part in helping to find a cure.
These walks have helped me do just that. I love making ppl aware!! and fundraising is for the most part a joy.
Ive met some of the most unselffish ppl Ive ever know and made some close and dear friends...and we all have one common thread that binds us.....
WE WALK FOR A CURE! We want to see CANCER abolished...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This walk has made me realize that at any time or any age someone in MY family god forbid could be looking at this cancer thing....and Im going to make damn sure with the help of thousands of walker friends THAT NO ONE ever has to hear those words ever.
Ive been a walker, IVe worked lunch crew and IVe been sweep (Twice in Ottawa & I will be returning in 2009 as sweep) and in 2009 I will take to the streets with my team to fight this thing call breast cancer.
This year alone cancer has claimed several freinds and several family members have been diagnosed with CANCER.Now only two of these was breast cancer related...but to me CANCER is CANCER and IT NEEDs to be Beaten.
So until im needed no more to participate in this weekend I WILL BE a part of it.
Proud to be a part of THE WEEKEND TO END BREAST CANCER.
